Monthly VPS with no lock-in

An always-on KVM server with an automatic monthly cap: it is metered by the hour, and once its charges in a billing period reach the plan’s monthly price, the rest of that period is free. No contract, nothing to prepay, nothing to switch.

Month to month, no contract

A low monthly figure often comes with conditions in the small print. Here is how the usual conditions compare with the way a monthly server works here.

Common hosting terms compared with HourlyVPS monthly billing
Topic Common in hosting At HourlyVPS
Term The advertised price needs a 12, 24 or 36-month prepay. There is no prepaid monthly plan: leave a server on and its charges stop at the monthly price in each billing period (after 500 hours, about 20.8 days), with no contract and no annual term.
Price An introductory rate, then a higher price at the first renewal. One monthly price per plan, the one in the table above, and it is a ceiling, not a charge in advance. There is no introductory rate to expire.
Leaving early The rest of the prepaid term is gone, or an early-termination fee applies. Usage is metered, so there are no refunds to claim: you pay only for the hours a server exists, never more than the monthly price in a billing period. Account credit is not paid out to your card or crypto wallet unless the law requires it. Details are in the refund and account credit policy.

Built for always-on workloads

Starting points, not limits. Watch memory and CPU for a week, then move up or down a plan if the numbers say so.

Always-on workloads and a starting plan for each
Workload Start with Why Per month, at most
Discord or Telegram bot Quartz Q11 vCPU · 1 GB RAM · 25 GB NVMe One long-running process and a small database; it spends its day waiting on the network. $5.00/month
WireGuard VPN for a household Quartz Q11 vCPU · 1 GB RAM · 25 GB NVMe Light on CPU and memory. Keep an eye on the plan’s monthly traffic allowance. $5.00/month
Personal site or blog Quartz Q21 vCPU · 2 GB RAM · 50 GB NVMe Room for a web server, PHP and a small database, with page caching switched on. $10.00/month
n8n or Node-RED automations Quartz Q42 vCPU · 4 GB RAM · 80 GB NVMe The workflow engine, its database and a queue side by side, with memory to spare for bursts. $15.00/month
AI agent with a headless browser Quartz Q84 vCPU · 8 GB RAM · 160 GB NVMe Browser automation is memory-hungry; 8 GB leaves headroom for the agent and the browser together. $25.00/month
Database or build server that never idles Chrono C82 vCPU · 8 GB RAM · 100 GB NVMe Pinned vCPUs for sustained work, so a long query or compile is not sharing its CPU. $35.00/month

Start small, and the cap does the rest

Plenty of always-on servers begin as an experiment. There is nothing to switch when the experiment stays: the server bills like any hourly VPS, hour by hour, and in each billing period its charges stop at the monthly price.

The table shows Quartz Q4 for one to four weeks and a month. Its charges reach $15.00 after 500 hours (20 days 20 hours); from there to the end of the billing period the server costs nothing more.

What a month really costs

The monthly price is the price of the whole server: address, traffic and DDoS mitigation are in it. This is a full billing period of Quartz Q4, line by line, before tax.

  • IP addresses

Every server comes with one dedicated IPv4 address and IPv6, included in the plan price.

  • Traffic

Istanbul plans include the monthly traffic allowance listed for each plan, prorated for a server that exists for part of a billing period.

Cheap monthly VPS without promo tricks

The lowest monthly price here is $5.00/month, for Quartz Q1 (1 vCPU · 1 GB RAM · 25 GB NVMe). There is no struck-through price beside it, no countdown and no “first month only”.

A small plan is right for a bot, a VPN endpoint, a static site or a monitoring probe. It is the wrong choice for a stack of several containers, a database that wants its working set in memory, or anything that drives a headless browser.

For those jobs the honest answer is a bigger plan: Quartz Q2 at $10.00/month or Quartz Q4 at $15.00/month. Saving a few dollars on a server that runs out of memory is not a saving.

Monthly VPS FAQ

Answers use today’s prices. Every plan and every rule is on the pricing page.

What happens if I delete the server after 10 days?

You pay for the 240 hours it existed: on Quartz Q4, 240 × $0.03/hour = $7.20. Billing stops when it is deleted, and there is no cancellation fee (see the month-to-month table above).

When does the monthly cap start to count?

From the day you order. A billing period is one month from your order date, not the calendar month, and the cap starts again in each one. Within a period, the charges for a server stop once they reach its monthly price; on Quartz Q4 that is $15.00, reached after 500 hours (20 days 20 hours), so a server left on all month pays exactly that. A server that exists for part of a period simply pays for its hours, up to the same cap.

Is a year cheaper if I pay for it up front?

No. There is no annual plan and no discount for paying ahead, and nothing is prepaid. On Quartz Q4 a year costs at most 12 × $15.00/month = $180.00, billed period by period, so you can stop whenever the server is no longer needed.

Where are monthly servers located?

Servers run in Istanbul today; New York is coming soon and cannot be ordered yet. All locations

How much traffic does a month include?

2 TB to 12 TB a month, depending on the plan; the plan table lists each one. The traffic rule itself is printed under What a month really costs.

How do I pay for a monthly server?

Your account runs on prepaid credit, with a minimum top-up of $5. Ordering a server takes an initial credit ($5 for Quartz Q1 to Chrono C16, $9 for Chrono C32 and $16 for Chrono C64): prepaid credit that pays for its hours, not a fee. You can pay and top up your credit by card or cryptocurrency.
