October 2026

2026-10-04: New prices and a 500-hour monthly cap

  • New prices apply to servers ordered from October 4, 2026. Every plan’s hourly rate and monthly price are on the pricing page. Servers ordered before that date keep their prices until they change under the “Price changes” clause of the Terms of Service, which gives at least 30 days’ notice by email before an increase applies to an existing server.
  • Each plan’s monthly price is now 500 times its hourly rate, so the monthly cap is reached after 500 hours (about 20.8 days) on every plan, and a server left on all month pays exactly the monthly price.
  • The cap applies per billing period: one month from the date you order the server, not the calendar month. It starts again in every billing period.
  • A charge for part of an hour, such as a server’s first or last hour, is rounded to the nearest cent and is never more than the hourly rate. A powered-off server is still billed; only deleting it stops billing.
  • The initial credit taken when you order a server is prepaid credit, not a fee: the server’s hourly usage is deducted from it, and when it runs out you top up. Prices are in US dollars only; taxes are added to the invoice according to your country.
  • Version 1.3 of the Terms of Service, the Refund and Account Credit Policy and the Service Level Agreement, effective October 4, 2026. The legal documents page lists what changed.

2026-10-03: Hourly prices in whole cents

  • Every plan’s hourly rate is now a whole number of cents, and every hourly charge is deducted in whole cents. A server still never costs more than its plan’s monthly price in a billing month. Current rates and monthly prices are on the pricing page.
  • Because each plan’s hourly rate and monthly price differ, the monthly cap is now reached after a different number of hours on each plan; the pricing page and each plan page show where it falls.
  • Version 1.2 of the Terms of Service and the Refund and Account Credit Policy, effective October 3, 2026: hourly charges are deducted in whole cents, and a full hour is charged at exactly the plan’s hourly rate.

2026-10-03: Hourly billing with a monthly cap

  • Every server is now billed by the hour, for every started hour, and never costs more than its plan’s monthly price in a billing month. The cap applies automatically, to stopped servers as well. Rates and monthly prices are on the pricing page.
  • “Daily” and “monthly” now describe ways of using the same hourly-billed server: by the day (24 hourly charges a day) or left running under the monthly cap. Prepaid daily and monthly cycles, their renewals and their early-cancellation refunds are withdrawn.
  • Ordering a server takes an initial credit for that server, which is prepaid and used for its hours. When a server’s balance falls to about 24 hours of usage, we issue a top-up invoice; at zero balance the server is suspended, and it is deleted 7 days later. See Payment methods.
  • Servers are deployed in Istanbul. New York is shown as coming soon until servers there can be ordered.
  • Version 1.1 of the Terms of Service, the Refund and Account Credit Policy and the Service Level Agreement, effective October 3, 2026. Metered usage is not refunded, and account credit is still not paid out except in the cases the policy lists or where the law requires it. The legal documents page lists what changed.
